File this one under "Things I never noticed in the Bible before."
The atrocious account of Judah with Tamar in Genesis 38, all
starts with Judah going to Adullam. If
that name rings a bell, it should – David hid out in the cave of Adullam from
Saul.
So David, of the tribe of Judah, finds refuge in the cave
named after the most embarrassing and morally repugnant episode in Judah’s
life.
I’m not sure, but I believe this speaks to the ability of
God, in His providence, to redeem past ugliness in your life or your family
history. Redeem, as in, make it serve a
good purpose, or overcome it by more positive events later.
