Mohler's comments highlight the nub of the problem. Evangelicals cannot accept a hermeneutic of legitimation or revision. I think these kind of issues force one to decide whether or not one is truly an evangelical, or just someone who thinks they are evangelical but are in fact moving away from sola scriptura.
