Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival

The big area quilt and fabric show is this weekend. I can't wait to go! It's like a fine art museum, only all textile goods. Of course there are the gorgeous quilts that were part of the competition, but there will be tons of vendors selling fabrics, patterns, books, notions, yarns (!); and then there will be demonstrations, classes, and fashion shows. I'm just doing a quick morning to take it all in, but one of these years I'd like to take a class or two! For now I'll content myself with a few fabric stash enhancements.

What kind of fabric would you get??

I wish I could join you. I'm interested in laminated cottons -- they've got to have some of those lying around, right? Also, didn't Anna Marie Horner come out with a bunch of fun flannels this year? Just think of all the damage you could do to your family with a credit card in hand! That's why I won't be there :) Enjoy yourself.

  2. Back from the show myself and was amazed at the amount of Batiks this year! I had hoped to get a jelly roll or two of Kona solids but could find none. I wandered around, bought two patterns and then headed to my favorite fabric place, the Ben Franklin Store on Victory. The fabric lady is European and has the most amazing taste in fabrics and you can't beat 2.99-3.49/yd. and an additional 20% off with my card. Sigh!

  3. I'll have to check out BF - the only fabric I bought at the show is very French looking!
