Leaving the upper room, they go to the temple, I think.
Josephus says the temple had a carving of vine and branches over the doors (Antiquities, 5.5.4).
Jesus is the vine, and we are the branches.
Abiding in Him, we will bear much fruit, have full joy, and glorify God.
Love each other. This is my command, and the hallmark of friendship with Me.
The world hates you because I chose you, and it hates Me, too.
When the Spirit comes, He will witness to Me, and you will, too.
Application
We cannot please God outside of Christ.
Joy is only found in Him, as is love for others.
Don't be surprised or upset when the world hates you - it hated Jesus whom you follow, too.
